Meant to post this a few weeks ago, but it was on back burner for a bit due to my health….You know by now that the fine site you are visiting is a fansite for Molly and Casey, and their alter egos Melanie and Chad. My theory is a bit unusual compared to the other posts on here, but it has the potential if implemented to affect Melanie (Molly) and Carly (Chappell) in a huge way.

Back in June when I started writing this I was inspired and intrigued by a post that Jamey Giddens did over at Daytime Confidential. While I didn’t see eye to eye with him on everything he mentioned (sorry Jamey, love ya anyways) he had a kickass idea which i’ve built upon which sets up the potential to send shockwaves through Salem.

Here I go…Since Carly Manning returned to Salem, we haven’t heard her say a single word about her family, save for the fact that she killed her hubby and was revealed to be Melanie’s biological Mama. We are now a few months shy of the one year anniversary since Miss Manning made her return to Salem, and I can’t be the only one that thinks it’s about time they bolstered up her backstory. That being said I think the most logical place to start is by bringing Carly’s mother on to the canvas.

Stay with me here, I promise it’s worth the wait. Carly’s mother can’t be some unknown person who shows up in Salem to stir up some trouble and then be quickly written out when the writers get tired of her. It’s got to be a daytime veteran who would send shockwaves through Salem the moment she arrived. Jamey came up with the perfect person to fit the bill, and I’m going to delve further into that now. We all know that it’s common knowledge in Salem that Carly and Hope can’t stand each other. That being said, what if you could take that rivalry and expand on it to make it even more intense and bitter?

Here’s the big reveal I promised. Why not bring back a character from the past who would not only fit the bill as Carly’s mama and Melanie’s grandma, but would also have backstory going back decades in Salem? Back in the early years of Days, Julie Olson Williams was front and center, and until 1973 Susan Martin Hunter was her nemesis in every sense of the word. What if through a strange twist of fate Susan made a return to Salem and was revealed to be Carly’s Mother? Played by soap vet Denise Alexander (who went on play the iconic Lesley Webber on General Hospital AND Mary McKinnon on Another World) Susan fits the bill perfectly!

Throwing Susan back into the mix would really stir things up! Think of the possibilities for potential storylines here. Julie and Susan could re-ignite their decades old rivalry, in turn adding more fuel to the fire between Carly and Hope. Granted this is just an idea, but I can’t be the only one that would like this to happen. Maybe TPTB will read this and run with it? I can only hope!

It’s also worth mentioning that Carly has a brother too. Although she hasn’t spoken of him since her return, Frankie Brady is Carly’s biological bro. Knowing that Frankie and Jennifer Horton have a long history dating back to the 1980’s, why not bring him back and throw him into the mix as well? With Jennifer Horton’s return to Salem, bringing back Frankie makes sense if you think about it. Giving Carly a mother would also affect Frankie too, and create quite a few possibilities for potential storylines. Can’t you just see Melanie meeting her grandmother for the first time, and knowing that she’s got an uncle too?

Ok, I’m FINALLY back in the saddle so to say, and I know I need to post the emmy pix and stuff, but in my mind this trumps those for right now. If you didn’t know, Molly and Casey are HUGE fans of “GLEE” –and have said in the past that they’d like to be on the show….well I’ve concocted a scheme to try and make that a reality! My scheme is laid out below in instructions that even a 5 year old could probably figure out (just sayin)

The Plan!

1) The Twitter Rush! If you are on Twitter, we HAVE to bombard The Official “GLEE” Twitter ( @GleeOnFox )with tweets telling them that we want Molly and Casey on GLEE. Remember to use the tags #MollyBurnettOnGlee and #CaseyDeidrickOnGlee

2) Time To Get Out Your Pens And Send A Few Letters! Below is the most current list I was able to compile of contacts in regards to “GLEE” I suggest writing to each of them! I’m in the process of posting a form letter you can print to send them-just sign your name and add your info to it if you want (can I make it any easier for you?)

3) Wait and See What Happens! Granted i’m just one person…but if we bombard them with letters and tweets I think anything is possible!

Ok, I truly suck! I can’t believe I haven’t updated the site in over a month! I’ve got a good reason though, I’ve been extremely ill over the past few weeks. I’m on the comeback trail now and back in the saddle, so expect some major site updates in the coming days, as well as a few surprises that I’ve had in the works that will hopefully knock your socks off. Stay Tuned!

For those of you who didn’t already know, the ever talented Mr. Deidrick can sing too! Casey is the lead singer in a five member hardcore/metal rock band from Los Angeles dubbed “A DREADFUL FALL” Click on the band photo above to be transported to their official site and see what you think. To my knowledge they aren’t touring right now, but when they do they will definitely bring the house down. Ok, now another interesting question to ponder-Wouldn’t it be interesting to get the Days characters singing on the show again? If you’ve watched long enough you know that Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) can sing opera and did so years ago in character on DOOL. Molly and Casey sing as well, albeit not opera but they do sing..Let’s start a discussion on how they could write them using their talents on the show…i’ve got my own ideas but I’m sure you do too so get to work!

Hi All-

It’s your humble DaysFanatic here again. I’m sure you’re wondering why I haven’t updated the page since the Emmys right? I’m extremely sorry for the lack of updates, It’s not intentional by any means. I’ve had a streak of bad luck lately, and spent a good portion of the past week in a hospital bed. Thus with this development all of my planned updates have been put on hold temporarily. PLEASE don’t flee the building and jump ship just yet! I’ve got LOTS of great things in the works, and will hopefully get them up and running in the next few days for everyone to enjoy! Ok, unless one has been living under a rock or in a van down by the river, you’ve got to know by now that the amazing Molly Burnett has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy in the category of “Outstanding Younger Actress” She will be in Vegas Sunday along with Casey and many other Days stars to hopefully hear them announce her name and go collect her much deserved trophy. I must admit in all honesty that if Molly doesn’t win, I’m pulling for Shelley Hennig (Stephanie) Her performances in the last year were pretty awesome, and shes one of the sweetest gals you could ever meet. Time will tell, so all we can do is tune in Sunday (6/27) on CBS at 9pm E/P and watch. Had your humble webmaster realized that as a blogger/web site guru he is considered a member of the press, he would be there in person to watch the events unfold. Hopefully next year i’ll have my act together and know ahead of time. That being said, I’ve put together the page below as a bit of a “cheat-sheet” for you. The amazing Molly Burnett (duh! -what, did you think I’d pick Marnie Schulenburg?) Shelley Hennig would be my runner up, she did some amazing work in the past year as well, but ultimately I’m picking Molly for the win. I’ve probably said this before, but from Molly’s first appearance on Days, I’ve known that she was destined for great things, and no doubt in my mind this nomination is just her name being carved into that stone a little deeper. Regardless of whether she leaves Days when her contract is up, or sticks around for many years to come, this truly is the first of many good things to come for Miss Molly, and I for one couldn’t be happier for her.

The Young and the Restless-Granted if Days had been an option it would be my first choice, but Y&R is truly an amazing show. They use their vets on a daily basis, and most of the time the writing is top notch. Days could definitely take some cues from Y&R and utilize their vets more. I can’t be the only one that would love to see Doug & Julie, Kimberly, Melissa, Jen, Mike, and Carrie on more occasions than funerals, weddings, or holidays.

Gotta go with Crystal Chappell here. This decision is based solely on her acting talents, and not the material with which she was given to portray. I’m going to get a ton of hate mail for saying this, but I don’t necessarily think the storytelling written by David Kreizman/Donna Swajeski was true to the character history of Olivia Spencer. BUT Crystal Chappell was amazing nonetheless–so based on talent she gets my vote. Runner up would be the amazing Maura West from ATWT—with the recent demise of the 54 year old sudser I’m hoping that another show realizes the range of this amazing woman. Any soap casting director would be insane not to scoop her up…..I wonder if TPTB at Days are reading this? I can only hope!

Beth Chamberlin (Beth Raines, The Guiding Light) -I know i’m going to get some jaw dropping reactions to my choice to pick Beth over Arianne, but I was also a longtime GL viewer, and Beth Chamberlin was amazing during the final year of GL, and the reel she submitted is definitely one of the best scenes of her career. She not only lost her boy toy (Coop) but had to deal with the return of her presumed dead former husband Phillip Spaulding at the same time-something I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. I also must point out that P&G/Telenext Productions did zilch to help the out of work actors from GL submit/nominate themselves for an award. Beth had to pick her own episode to submit, and to my knowledge is footing the bill for her airfare/hotel/Emmy dress by herself. Just another blunder at the hands of Procter & Gamble, who I must add should be ashamed of themselves for not doing right by their actors. So if Beth Chamberlin wins as I predict, I’d expect a few choice words for her former employer!

First off, Casey Deidrick was robbed, and should be on this list!!! But since the judges left him out, I would like to see a tie between Dylan Patton (ex-Will, DOOL) and Zack Conroy (James, GL) –this may just be a fantasy from deep inside my mind, but it would be awesome to see them both win. Patton’s submission was fantastic, and Conroy’s was riveting and the storyline was in tune with what was going on at the time (Bernie Madoff and his Ponzi Scheme) I tend to believe that this performance is what landed him his new job at The Bold and the Beautiful.

A few months back Molly filmed a cameo appearance on “Good Luck Charlie” for The Disney Channel. Although I’m in the dark as to the details of her characters backstory, I do know that it will air Sunday Night (6/27) at 8:30pm ET. Unfortunately this is the same time the Daytime Emmys will air, so luckily it will air again the following morning as well (6/28) at 12:00am ET. I’ll be taping it on my Tivo and suggest you either do that or watch it later on….sorry Disney but the opportunity to watch Miss Molly Burnett snag her first Daytime Emmy trumps anything else.

Miss Molly is getting pretty popular it seems lately (yay!) Just a few weeks back she did an interview with my pals Lee and Lauren at DayPlayerDish, and now I’ve gotten word from Deb over at JasamRadio that she will be doing an interview with them as well! It’s tentatively scheduled for this Wednesday night (6/16) at  10pm ET/7pm PT.
